Daniel Seroussi
Born in Tel-Aviv, June 28th,1985, begun his piano studies at the age of six with Mrs. Neta Yahel at the Giv'ataym Conservatory. Completed his primary musical studies at the Tel-Aviv School of Arts and Thelma Yellin High School for Arts.
From 1999 on studied piano Prof. Emanuel Krasovsky and in 2003 joined his class at the Rubin Academy of Music, Tel-Aviv University.
In 2006 Daniel was accepted to the “Hanns Eisler" music academy, Berlin, joining the classes of Prof. Michael Endres and later Prof. Henri Sigfridsson until graduating in 2011, with special distinction.
Daniel was further inspired through various mastercourses, working with Dmitry Bashkirov, Paul Badura-Skoda, John O'Connor, Jacob Lateiner, Georg Sava and Martino Tirimo.
As a passionate chamber musician, participated in the chamber music activities run by the Jerusalem Music Centre and was chosen, as a part of a special delegation of the music academy "Hanns Eisler", to perform several chamber music concerts in New-York. In Februar 2009, together with the violinist Stefan Hempel, won the second prize (first prize was not awarded) in the duo competition "Schubert and modern music", held in Graz, Austria. Daniel is still an active and enthusiastic chamber music player.
In August 2013 He Grounded the “Galil” Trio, together with Nur Ben-Shalom (Clarinet) and Noa Chorin (Cello). The ensemble is devoted to discovering forgotten and prohibited music of Jewish composers before 1938 and has already performed over 30 concerts. For this season, the ensemble was invited to perform in the prestigious Lucerne Festival.
Daniel Seroussi played recitals in different venues in Europe, Israel, North, Central and South America. Participated in Festivals in Santander (Spain), Ushuaia (Argentina), Bodensee Festival,Vareler Hafen, Plauer Klaviertage (To name a few in Germany) and had concerto appearances with various Orchestras including the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon Lezion, the Moscow Symphony Orchestra and the Folkwang Chamber Orchestra Essen, as well as guiding and performing with the young Orchestra of the National Music Center of Costa-Rica.
Winner of the third and audience prize in the international piano competition Prix Amadèo, held in Aachen 2010 ,second prize in "Katz" piano competition of the Buchmann-Mehta Music school, 2006 and third prize in the Concerto Competition at the Tel-Hai International Piano Masterclasses held in Israel in 2003. In 2008 won a special prize of the DAAD, given to an outstanding foreign student at the "Hanns Eisler" music academy.
Daniels playing was recorded and featured in many TV stations in Israel, Germany (ZDF) and on the SWR, ORF and RBB radio stations.
